+What is ETH5050?

ETH5050 is a decentralized Web3 50/50 raffle platform on Ethereum Layer 2 networks. Anyone can create a raffle or buy tickets with ETH. Smart contracts handle ticket sales, winner selection, and payouts on-chain — with no platform token and no middleman deciding outcomes.

+What is the vision behind ETH5050?

The vision is simple: make fair raffles the default on Ethereum. Traditional online raffles often hide how winners are chosen. ETH5050 was built so creators and players can see every ticket, every fee, and every draw on-chain. Fairness is enforced by code and Chainlink VRF — not by trust in an operator.

+How does an ETH5050 raffle work?

Connect a wallet with ETH on Base, OP Mainnet, or Arbitrum One. Creators pay a flat 0.012 ETH creation payment to launch a raffle. Players buy tickets at 0.0025 ETH each. When the raffle completes, Chainlink VRF selects a winner and the contract pays out automatically: 50% of ticket sales to the creator and 50% to the winner.

You can create raffles, buy tickets in active raffles, share raffle links, view live prize pools, and check completed results. Creators earn 50% of ticket sales from raffles they launch. Players compete for the other 50%. Everything is wallet-native — no accounts, no platform points, no proprietary token.

+What token does ETH5050 use?

ETH — native Ether on each supported L2. Creating raffles, buying tickets, paying gas, and receiving winnings all use ETH. There is no ETH5050 token, no governance token, and no alternate entry currency.

+Why is there no platform token?

ETH5050 follows a no-token philosophy on purpose. A platform token would add speculation, bridging complexity, and trust assumptions that do not improve raffle fairness. Using ETH keeps the product aligned with Ethereum itself: one asset, transparent fees, and real utility for ETH holders.

+What does it cost to create a raffle?

Creating a raffle costs a transparent 0.012 ETH payment: 0.010 ETH goes to the platform creation fee, and 0.002 ETH funds the Decentralized Finalization Reserve used for Chainlink VRF requests, Chainlink Automation, and fallback settlement so raffles can finish on-chain. There are no hidden percentage cuts on top of that creation payment.

+What does a ticket cost, and how is the prize split?

Each ticket costs 0.0025 ETH. Ticket proceeds form the raffle pot. At settlement, the smart contract splits that pot 50/50: half to the raffle creator and half to the VRF-selected winner. ETH5050 does not skim a percentage of the prize pool.

+Why does ETH5050 integrate Chainlink?

Winner selection must be random and independently verifiable. Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function) provides cryptographically proven randomness that smart contracts can check on-chain before accepting a result. Chainlink Automation helps raffles finalize without relying on a human operator to press a button. Together they remove ETH5050 from the outcome path.

+What is Chainlink VRF, and what makes it fair?

Chainlink VRF generates a random value plus a cryptographic proof. The ETH5050 raffle contract verifies that proof on-chain. If the proof is invalid, the result is rejected. That means neither ETH5050, the raffle creator, nor a participant can quietly swap in a preferred winner — the math has to check out publicly on the blockchain.

+Can ETH5050 control or change raffle outcomes?

No. Once a raffle is live and tickets are sold, ETH5050 cannot pick winners, reorder tickets, or rewrite results. Final randomness comes from Chainlink VRF and is verified by the smart contract. There is no admin “choose winner” switch. If we could control outcomes, it would not be a provably fair on-chain raffle — and that is exactly what ETH5050 refuses to be.

+Is ETH5050 fully on-chain?

Yes for the critical path: raffle creation, ticket purchases, prize accounting, VRF winner selection, and payouts are executed by smart contracts on the chosen L2. Anyone can inspect transactions and contract state on a block explorer. The UI helps you interact; it does not replace the on-chain source of truth.

+What does Chainlink Automation do on ETH5050?

Chainlink Automation watches for raffles that are ready to settle and triggers finalization on-chain. That reduces dependence on a manual keeper. Combined with the Decentralized Finalization Reserve, Automation and VRF are funded so draws can complete even when no single user is standing by to finish the process.

+How can I verify that a raffle was fair?

Open the raffle’s on-chain transactions and contract events for ticket buys, the VRF request/fulfillment, and the payout transfers. Cross-check the winner against the VRF-proven random value recorded on-chain.
